Happily Ever After

This short story of 3100 words was originally written in 2005, and published in 2011. It is a fun experiment in viewing traditional fairy tales such as Cinderella, The Princess and the Pea, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty through a new lens; in this case, giving the "wicked stepmother" the voice she has traditionally been denied. This edition contains the author's notes on the historical and societal influences that drove the story.

Reviewers write: "Refreshingly, told from the point of view of the ambitious, amoral queen... Machiavelli would have been proud. Readers who enjoy strong female characters and retellings of classic fairy tales will appreciate this short story."
